About Jeffrey

Jeffrey S. Parola was born in Bangor, Maine on October 28, 1967. A graduate of Dexter High School's Class of 1986, Jeffrey was a remarkable athlete. He was a three sport letter winner and captained his varsity soccer team that won two Eastern Maine Championships. After graduating high school, Jeffrey attended the University of Maine where he was a member of the 1985 State Championship Basketball Team and was selected for the All-State Soccer Team. Jeffrey later attended the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and Maine State Police Training Group, graduating in April of 1990.

Jeffrey served proudly as a Maine State Trooper for five years. During that time, he served with Troop J, in Machias and Troop C, in Skowhegan. He became a member of the Maine State Police Tactical Team in November of 1992 and was in line to become a member of the Bomb Disposal Team. Jeffrey was dedicated to his career as a Maine State Trooper. He was a valued and respected member of the Maine State Police and was often referred to as "a trooper’s trooper."

Jeffrey was twenty-seven years old when he died on the 13th of November, 1994. While responding to a tactical team call, his cruiser missed an intersection in Sidney. Only days before his death, Jeffrey received the department's Award for Bravery. Jeffrey died while dutifully serving the
citizens of Maine.
